Irish Web Awards & IT@Cork Nominations

Well, I’ve been very busy of late converting Druid DNS over to Oggim DNS. That’s going well during the day and I am glad to say its coming along very nicely at present. Still have lots of work to do on the UI, but the port to Zend Framework is going very well.

At the same time I am busy writing Rush Hour, our brand spanking new whatever analytics package (which is moving leaps and bounds now). Out of the blue I got two rather surprising and humbling emails.

The first one told me that TweetRush (A implementation of Rush Hour based on Twitter data) had been nominated for an Irish Web Award. The guys and myself feel really honoured to be nominated and shortlisted for the awards and hope to attend on October 11th. No matter whom the winner is on the night, to be nominated by ones peers is a matter of great pride for myself and all the guys involved (Adam, Grzegorz, James, Slawomir & Walter).

Another few days go by and after we recovered from the shock of the IWA nomination, a mail from IT@Cork arrives in my inbox. We’ve been nominated for a leadership award there too! The words were few when I told all at our weekly team meeting about it. Stunned silence at first and then very large grins. We are however still stunned by it all. I know its a cliche, but we really are very humbled by the experience, especially when you see who have gone before us. To be spoken of in the same breath is mind blowing for us all.

So to whomever nominated us, a big big THANK YOU, from us all. We very sincerely appreciate & are humbled by your nominations. And to all whom have helped us (You know who you are), we are forever in a debt of gratitude.
